Inspired by our tortoise, Freddy - we created HappyPetz to help other owners keep watch. Our AI detects when your tortoise flips onto its back and alerts you, so you can help in time.
Join us and help save tortoises.
Our AI learns from every tortoise it watches. The more keepers join, the more accurate it gets.
Why we built this
When a tortoise flips onto its back, getting upright again can be extremely difficult — and sometimes impossible.
When a flip becomes dangerous
Being upside down puts pressure on the lungs.
Extended time on their back can cause severe dehydration.
Tortoises sometimes manage to right themselves, but not always — and repeated attempts to flip back can cause significant stress.
It started with Freddy — a mischievous little tortoise who couldn’t stop climbing (and flipping). One ordinary afternoon, in the middle of a work meeting, an email changed everything: “Freddy is upside down.” That’s the moment HappyPetz was born.
Read Freddy's story →Connect a compatible FTP camera or order directly from Reolink (yours to keep) and you’re set up in minutes. We’re constantly adding more cameras to our compatibility list.
HappyPetz uses your camera and AI to recognize when your tortoise has flipped over 24/7.
*HappyPetz is an extra layer of protection, not a replacement for checking on your tortoise.
Get notified immediately by email (and soon WhatsApp/SMS) so you can act before it’s too late.
Free early access — help us make tortoises safer.
